New Year’s Demand

Perhaps you may have missed it, being how we are way up in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, but the first big snowfall up here last Fall was followed by the biggest fire in Estes Park history.

We lost a major portion of our downtown business section.

The Copper Penny was almost devoured, but for the heroic men of our great Estes Park Volunteer Fire Department, along with engines from, Loveland, Longmont, and Fort Collins.

Since the fire in October last year, the clean-up and the rebuilding started, we got a new roof on our building just after Christmas, and through the winter we have rebuilt The Penny.

New merchandise is arriving daily, and the staff is getting ready for a grand re-opening in another couple of weeks. You can follow The Copper Blogg

It is ironic that the Copper Penny celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year and here we are, starting all over again, with a brand new store, new merchandise, a few different people, but in the exact same location as 60 years ago!

This year, we have added some new and exciting lines, including McCall’s Country Canning Candles, the scents of which you will die for! Classic of the month is “Chocolate and Berries”. My favorites are Cherries Jubilee and Fresh Country Apple. Oh, shades of grandma’s house.

We brought two new web sites on stream last year, www.CoasterSales.com/  and www.ChamiliaGifts.com/. The first contains a complete list of popular Thirstystone products, including the University and College designs, as well as the new “Carsters”. Chamilia is dedicated to allowing you to design your own necklaces and bracelets with individual beads and charms, including an exclusive licenced Disney line.

Last week we introduced www.BarlowSales.com/ featuring the full line of great products for men, including their much vaunted “Barlow Knife” collection. Ladies, if you need a place to shop for your man, check out the beautifully engraved pocket and penknives, the assortment of sports and wildlife designs on traditional belt buckles and moneyclips, and the really neat cherry wood Valet Boxes.

For more updated information on our re-opening, please read our latest feeds at http://www.thepenny.com/thepenny.rss or pull up our web site, www.ThePenny.com/ for time and details .
